During Prohibition, production had to be completely halted from 1920 to 1933. After its end, the distillery underwent modernization and quickly recovered. In 1941, the Wild Turkey Whiskey brand was established. The whiskey got its name from a tasting conducted during a turkey hunt. Since 2009, Wild Turkey Whiskey has been owned by the Campari Group.
