The honey-colored Old Scout is composed of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley.
To achieve its full maturity, the whiskey aged for a minimum of seven years in barrels specifically crafted for bourbon production. They were hand-selected and blended by Smooth Ambler.

In the nose, notes of caramel, vanilla, and pipe tobacco are immediately present. It's the pipe tobacco that primarily characterizes its full-bodied flavor. There are also hints of cherry, chocolate, and some charred wood, giving Old Scout a very earthy quality.
The finish emphasizes the chocolate and woody notes. It has an alcohol content of 49.5% ABV and is bottled in a uniquely designed 0.7-liter bottle.
Old Scout is best enjoyed neat, with a bit of water, or over ice.
