In 2021, Jack Daniel's released the No. 27 Gold Maple Wood Finish / Year of the Ox to commemorate the Chinese New Year celebrations. In 2021, China celebrated the Year of the Ox. However, the number 27 is also significant: This spirit is a bottling of the No. 7 whiskey. The maturation process occurred in two stages. During this time, the Tennessee Whiskey was aged in barrels made of fine-grained maple oak wood. The barrels were charred to optimize the aroma of the spirit.
