In the 1980s, due to the Bourbon crisis, family members had to shut down the operation.
Even Kulsveen, a Norwegian who married into the family, opened the new distillery at the old location in 2012 and reintroduced the house bourbon to the market in January of that year.
Visitors can experience a distillery with historical charm, complemented by a bar and visitor center.
The water for the unique whiskey comes from a spring-fed lake on the property.
