In close proximity to the founder's sugar factory, an exquisite rum has been produced since then, distilled not from molasses but from fermented sugarcane juice. The Savanna Distillery produces some of the finest rum bottlings in the Indian Ocean and is globally renowned for its high-quality Rhum Agricoles or Grande Aromes Rums. Nearly 25 different varieties of rum are crafted using a Savalle column still and a pot still.
