In its founding year of 1824, Longrow obtained the license for the production of spirits. The company was led by its founder John Beith for 28 years. Subsequently, it passed on to his business partner John Ross. From 1886 to 1896, William and James Greenlees were the owners. Since 1896, no whisky has been produced at the distillery. Today, the adjacent Springbank Distillery utilizes some of the vacant spaces. As a tribute to the historical distillery operation, they produce the double-distilled single malt whisky 'Longrow.'
