The Kilchoman Autumn 2009 release is the second single malt from the small Scottish distillery. The whisky was first matured for three years in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in fine Oloroso sherry casks for three months. In 2009, it was bottled directly after the inaugural release at 46% vol. The bottling was limited to less than 10,000 bottles.

A wonderful sweetness rises from the glass, in which the whisky shimmers in a dark amber color, paired with a very intense peat note, a hint of seawater and gentle nuances of spices and fruit. On the palate, the Kilchoman Autumn 2009 Release is full-bodied and peaty with clear sherry notes and a pleasant malt aroma. Smoky nuances emerge in the long finish.
The Kilchoman Autumn 2009 Release is a rarity and is best enjoyed neat or with a little ice.
