Due to its extensive storage capacities and the deliberate inventory management by the owners, the traditional distillery consistently offers many old vintages as part of its standard range. In addition, Glenfarclas releases limited special editions. Almost all of the double-distilled, sometimes over forty years old whiskies of the brand mature in former Oloroso sherry casks made of oak. These casks impart the characteristic flavor to the single malt scotches traditionally produced in Ballindalloch with spring water.
