In 1851, under Arthur Bell, it became the Bell's Distillery. He crafted fine blends from single malt whiskies, which became the focal point of the range. In the subsequent decades, the whisky producer brought his sons in as business partners and acquired three distilleries: Inchgower Distillery, Dufftown, and Blair Athol. In the 1980s, the brand came under the ownership of the well-known Guinness conglomerate. Since 1985, Bell's Whisky has been part of the globally operating beverage manufacturer Diageo.
