Suntory Very Rare Old Expo 1975

A rarity among the popular 'Very Rare Old' whiskies

43.0 %vol. / 0.76 lt

In 1970, the Japanese distillery Suntory introduced a whisky for the first time to celebrate the World Expo in Osaka. Five years later, the producers continued the success of their 'Expo series'. The Suntory Very Rare Old is reminiscent of the 1975 Expo, held on the Japanese island of Okinawa. This malt-rich blended whisky has an alcohol content of 43% by volume.

The high malt content defines its rich color and flavor. Floral hints of rose water, vanilla pods, and perfume transition from the nose to the palate. Following the elegant flavors, there is an intriguing sweetness characteristic of Japanese whiskies. The finish is short-lived but flavorful, with notes of spices and rose petals. The malty profiles persist until the end. Experienced connoisseurs enjoy this whisky neat or mixed with still water.
